Why laser for the bikini area
Ingrown hairs and red bumps
Shaving the bikini area leaves them, and laser stops the hair at the root, so they stop too: our legs and bikini client had them after every shave, and none after 8 sessions.
No more waxing
Waxing never lasts: the hair is back within weeks, because the root stays. Laser reaches the root, so the reduction is long-lasting, and a session is more comfortable than waxing.
Dark, coarse hair
Bikini hair is usually dark and coarse, the hair the laser reaches best, so this area responds well.
Bikini line, extended or Brazilian
A bikini line clears what shows outside your underwear, an extended bikini goes further in, and a Brazilian treats all of it, front to back.

A Brazilian is $125 a session or $660 for six. These are our standard prices, and at the free consultation we plan your areas and sessions with you.
A bundle treats several areas in one session, for less than booking each on its own: Light adds underarms and any small area to your Brazilian for $175 a session. Every other area is on our price list, and laser hair removal cost in Chicago sets a package against paying per session and against waxing.
With a Beauty Bank membership a Brazilian is $112 on Plus and $100 on Elite: your monthly fee goes into a balance that rolls over and buys at member prices.

How many sessions a Brazilian takes
Most clients need 6 to 12 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart, because the laser only reaches hair in its growth phase. Skin tone, hair colour, genetics and hormones set your number. Our legs and bikini client had about 90% less hair after 8 sessions, and keeps it with one session a year. Call us at (312) 600-0705 and we can tell you everything in detail.
Week 1
After your first treatment, some hairs begin to shed.
Weeks 2 to 3
Some follicles stop producing hair, and the rest look thinner and lighter.
Weeks 4 to 8
After your second treatment, hair grows back slower and much finer.
What a Brazilian session feels like
We know a Brazilian can feel like a big deal. Don’t be nervous: we’ll make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed.

Before
Shave the whole area the day before, with no waxing or plucking: the laser needs the root. No sun or self-tanner for two weeks, no scrubs for a week, and no lotion on the day. Not during pregnancy, and from 3 to 4 months after a birth.
During
The bikini area is more sensitive than the legs. The Candela is less painful than other lasers, and our special cooling system cools your skin the whole time, so most clients find it easier than waxing.
After
Redness for 4 to 6 hours is normal. Keep out of the sun and heat, and leave any crusting alone.
No need to remember it all: we text you how to prepare, and it is all in before and after your session.

Does it stop ingrown hairs?

Does it work on dark skin?
Yes. Darker skin, types V and VI included, is treated on the Candela GentleMax Pro’s 1064 nm Nd:YAG, which reaches deeper and leaves the melanin at the surface alone, so we do not turn it down.
Can I have it while pregnant?
No, not during pregnancy. After a birth we start or resume treatment from 3 to 4 months, once your hormones have settled.
Do you do Brazilian laser hair removal for men?
Yes. The male Brazilian, our Manzilian, is $145 a session, with the men’s bundles on our price list.
