We treat every skin tone on the Candela GentleMax Pro, which is two lasers in one: 755 nm alexandrite for lighter skin, and 1064 nm Nd:YAG for darker skin, since it reaches deeper and leaves the melanin at the surface alone. So darker skin, Fitzpatrick types V and VI included, is not treated at low settings here: on the Nd:YAG we can take it higher than most clinics do. A special cooling system blows cold air on the skin through the session, on every skin tone.
